Its silly to make maximum HP at 7K RPM for a daily driver. HP is overrated , I WANT TORQUE.

Yeah, I hate driving a car that gets 27mpg on average but has 197hp on tap when I want it. 13mpg makes much more sense for a daily driver.The Civic's torque curve is flat as a pancake. It may only make 139 lb/ft of torque, but it makes it throughout the rev range.
Have you driven the new Si? I suspect you'd be surprised.
