Thread: Jacking it up

    Default Jacking it up

Basic question here... I'm getting ready to go out and do the brakes on the car, and I now have a jack that will actually get all the way under the front end! So, I'm assuming I can jack the front end up under the cross member, but is there a safe single point at the rear where I can place the jack? The diff housing looks a little delicate...

Somebody stop me before I eff something up!

I actually jack up each side placing the jack right under the side view mirror.
    ...and across the line.

+3 but I also use a custom grooved 2x4 to spread the load and to save my pinch rails.

If you have the rear ladder brace, you can jack it up there. i typically put my jack stands at the farthest rear portion of the frame rails. It has a nice flat and smooth place to rest on the stand.

Won't that tear your mirror off?

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

I use the diff for the rear and the cross brace for the front.

Might want to make sure nothing falls off or catches on fire before you get in line...

...unless you want 'em done the "Just Brakes" way...
