I Googled around and could not find anything, so maybe someone here has an idea...
My two-stroke weed trimmer engine will not shut down when I switch it to Off. It slowly got worse -- it stated taking longer and longer to shut down once I switched it to off, but now I pretty much have to turn it upside down and starve it of fuel to get it off. Any ideas on what the cause could be?

Weed eaters and lawn mowers use a magneto that has to be grounded out in order to kill the engine. Somewhere between the switch and the magneto coil, the wire has apparently broken.
If you get a screw driver, you can short out the spark plug to the cylinder head like in the good old days.
I recommend pulling the plug wire off. Barefooted. In wet grass.Quote:

Lower your throttle trim, if that doesn't work, throw a rag into the prop.
