I just realized that I don't have any numbers to stick on my car - duh. Any place I could go get some magnetic numbers, or at least some magnetic vinyl to make some? How big do they need to be? I plan on running No. 92 at La Grave on Sunday.
Blue tape...
Or
1. Go to Michaels/MJ design etc and get 2 rolls of magnetic material.
2. Make 8 or 10" numbers in Word Art and then trace over the magnetic material then take some scissors or an exacto knife and cut them out, stick on car. Buy some spray paint and paint to desired color if you so desire.
3. Profit
Good point. I think on dlbracing there is a list of permanentely registered numbers for each club. If 92 is not taken you can register it as yours so no one else can use it when they sign up.
Where are we meeting for breakfast now that the land of the 2 acre chicken fried steak is gone?
Plus with all the Bondo in the car trickyrix ya sure a magnet will even stick to it?? ;)
LOL, I swapped my drivers side door when I had a mishap and strangely after the swap magnets no longer stuck to it! I'm not sure if that door had previously been fixed with bondo or not but it was weird. Was a factory door as well.
Eh... I'll have to stick my digits to the fenders... A couple of 8x4" numbers would fit just fine between the wheel cutout and the door... big enough?
For some reason the magnetic stuff doesn't want to stick securely to either door. I know I've got a little bondo in the driver's side (up near the leading edge), but the passenger door is for sure unmolested.
Just a quick trip to Michael's to plow through the scrapbooking supplies and explain to the confused artsy clerk chick what I needed... great success!

You don't need the X, just the 92 :)
Anybody doin' breakfast over there in FW Sunday morning?
I would like to, someone name a spot
I know there's about 100 Mexican joints in that area, but no clue as to where they might serve some breakfast.
As an aside (and this is gonna seem like a real stoopid question), is it ok to wear shorts???
Lee and I are planning on going to the Mexican place that is north of La Grave. Its the one that Mick and Doug found if I remember correctly.
See ya'll there
Pretty good day, even with 60 people and 8 runs I was done and had tires changed by 2:10! 1st, 2nd and 3rd FTD were all Lotus as well :)
Way better than $40 at Speed Zone... ::Banana::
Thomas, thanks for the setup help! And thanks to Brad and Lee for the sandwich - good to meet you guys...
Here's a few pix from the thing:
Weather was perfect today, that is if I had the right air pressure in my tires from the beginning ::Rant::. Had the oil changed and they let air out and I simply forgot to add air before my first runs. I represented as best as I could for DFWMiata.com.
Had fun guys, take care,
And welcome for the sandwich tricky it was good meeting you.
Hey Brad... if you get a chance, shoot me a pic of the camera mounts you guys were using (particularly Lee's, since I'd need to mount mine the same way). That was slick!
BMW is an efficient club. They did a very nice job. Really like the run-work-rest format.
The course left me uninspired. Not terrible (well maybe the finish was pretty bad) but it was a point and shoot kind of day. Guess it's good to get some practice on those elements every once in a while. Congrats to fellow Lotus drivers for nice showing.
+1 It was a great event. We finished up around 2:30 and had plenty of time for fun runs. The course had it's good and bad, but the point and shoot section really killed my magical-triangle-powered, torqueless wonder!
Part of it was my fault b/c I kept meaning to downshift after the last slalom but the course was so busy I just kept forgetting.
Overall it was a very fun event and I got to drive Nathans Camry Solara powered MR-2! ::Banana::
VIDEO! :drive:
::Rant:: You kids get off my lawn! Go play in the parking lot with all the poles ::Rant::
My little Video.
