Study and past that test now. Earn money so you can race later.

Default What do you guys use for numbers?

I just realized that I don't have any numbers to stick on my car - duh. Any place I could go get some magnetic numbers, or at least some magnetic vinyl to make some? How big do they need to be? I plan on running No. 92 at La Grave on Sunday.

    Blue tape...

    Or

    1. Go to Michaels/MJ design etc and get 2 rolls of magnetic material.

    2. Make 8 or 10" numbers in Word Art and then trace over the magnetic material then take some scissors or an exacto knife and cut them out, stick on car. Buy some spray paint and paint to desired color if you so desire.

I'd recommend blue tape for first time out. 92 may not be available. If you buy/make numbers, you probably want 3-4 numbers you can mix and match. Not easy numbers like '1'. I bought 3, 4, 6, & 8 when I bought my set.

Good point. I think on dlbracing there is a list of permanentely registered numbers for each club. If 92 is not taken you can register it as yours so no one else can use it when they sign up.

I registered for this one with No. 92, so I should be good to go for this event. I'm going to hit Michael's today and see what they've got in the way of magnetic vinyl and stuff.

It comes in a roll inside a tube shape cardboard box. There are some that are paper based that you put through a printer but you want the other kind.

LOL, I swapped my drivers side door when I had a mishap and strangely after the swap magnets no longer stuck to it! I'm not sure if that door had previously been fixed with bondo or not but it was weird. Was a factory door as well.

I read somewhere that Mazda accidently shipped some Miatas with doors that had reversed polarity.

Eh... I'll have to stick my digits to the fenders... A couple of 8x4" numbers would fit just fine between the wheel cutout and the door... big enough?

For some reason the magnetic stuff doesn't want to stick securely to either door. I know I've got a little bondo in the driver's side (up near the leading edge), but the passenger door is for sure unmolested.

Default Got my digits made up...

Just a quick trip to Michael's to plow through the scrapbooking supplies and explain to the confused artsy clerk chick what I needed... great success!

    Default Shorts?

I know there's about 100 Mexican joints in that area, but no clue as to where they might serve some breakfast.

As an aside (and this is gonna seem like a real stoopid question), is it ok to wear shorts???

Yes, and I would suggest it. I think the only dress requirement is shoes that cover the entire foot.
