Turn Signals??

Is there a new rule on turn signals that allows someone to change lanes into you just because they used the signal? (BTW. no one was behind me for as far as you could see) I've seen it a couple of times in recent weeks and was wondering if maybe the rules have changes.

If so I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize to the angry man in the white cobalt this morning. Sorry the little red Miata kept getting in your way I'll have a stern talk with it later today. I also hope your throat isn't scratchy from all the screaming you did, and I do hope the kisses I blew your way helped you feel just a little better.

My truck is lit up like a christmas tree in the morning. I still have drivers try and put ther cars where it's at. I like the german idea of drivers license. It's a priveledge not a right.

I don't know WTF people were on yesterday... I almost got into 3 wrecks from people just blindly switching lanes with NO blinkers... NO looking in mirrors... and NO checking of blind spots.

I had to go to a funeral yesterday down in Duncanville and dropped the kiddo off with the wife at her work (Fair Park). There was a wreck on Loop 12 just about 200' past the I-35E split, one on I-30 Eastbound just west of Fair Park, then another one on I-35E Northbound right in the Zang curve.

Makes me want to go Mad Max on the highway at times.

I've noticed this as well since I moved here.

I tend to react just like it sounds the little red Miata did this morning... It's quite hilarious when you are successful enough to force them to make an unintended exit from the highway, though I've only managed that twice (I won't cause the guy to try to hit me).

I think POS is right. Almost every other day I have these dump aXX doing this to me. This is the reason I got the air horn.

I had a woman jabbering on a phone today that I had to lay on the horn. She took half of the lane away before she realized the horn was for her.

I suppose so...but when I think of anonymous, I think of having no distinctive character or recognition factor. People are quick to forego manners and respect when their identity is concealed, then they are not culpable for their actions or inaction.

Dallas County:
You need to change lanes, you see a gap, and you turn on your signal. The guy that will be behind you in the new lane speeds up to keep you stuck where you are.
Tarrant County:
You need to change lanes, you don't see a gap but turn on your signal. The guy that is in your way slows down, waves and lets you in.

Sounds like pos and some of the others need to stay in Dallas County

BS on that there was about a 3 mile gap behind the little red Miata. Maybe get off the gas and drop in behind the red miata rather than try and push me aside with your crappy little Cobalt.

I'd bet the Cobalt driver was from Smith County he seemed to have a bit of trouble grasping the obvious.

I kinda feel like I get "bullied" in my Miata....since it's so small it's easy to jump in front of (??) I guess. I don't recall people doing that to me when I drive bigger cars/trucks.

Unfortunately, traffic is what it is - bad driving habits are taken personally and tempers begin to flair and then bad things happen.

On my way back down from Hallett on Sunday, I almost got smeared into a guardrail by some redneck soccer mom in a Toyota Tundra. Traffic was heavy, but moving briskly. The left lane (my lane) was travelling faster and everyone was making their way past a semi (and the ensuing backup) in the right lane. I happened to have my lights on, just for that li'l extra bit of visibility.

However, that didn't stop Bobby Jo Lipshitz from just comin' on over into my lane, causing me to brake/swerve/honk at the same time. She never even flinched! Luckily, the driver behind me saw this coming and backed off to give me some braking space. Once we were all clear of the right-lane semi, I moved right and cleared myself from that sorry clump of morons.

I almost ran into a guy yesterday because he was driving in my blindspot. I was driving my friends chevy tahoe, merged onto I35 and checked my mirrors twice, and the second time saw a red honda just as I was at the white line. I whipped back into my lane and all was good, but it was pretty close. The only problem, is that this has been happening to me alot recently. People just cruising next to me in my blindspot, regardless of the car I'm driving. this isn't usually an issue when I drive in the HOV lane....

Noted he was changing lanes into me and as a side note I picked up on the fact he had decided to also use his signal that is why I figured the law had been changed.

As an added bonus this all happened on city streets posted limit 35mph......

Think he was attempting to bully me but he failed.

IMHO it was all he had to do was let of the gas for a touch and drop in behind me but he really really wanted the space I was occupying.

I think it's both but you still have to yield the right of way.

If I'm going 70 in the left lane and you're going 55, don't expect me to slow down so that you can pass at the breath taking speed of 56.
