It was a good thing I "tried" to drive the miata today because the clutch-master was dead. I would have been seriously pissed off to discover this on Sunday morning.

Had to withdraw after the first slippery session Getting ready for the next session, I noticed a small corded patch on one tire? Better safe than sorry, I withdrew from the rest of the day. Got more tires at home...

Then work calls, and I'm needed tonight and tomorrow Anyway, that means one spot is available for tomorrow which should be perfect .
Call Maggie if you want it, cause I just emailed her about my spot being open.

Have fun guys. Be fast and safe. As for me......

Had a good time, first few sessions in the AM were miserable. Cold, non stop drizzle and about as much grip as bus lot when it's wet. Dried out a bit the last session in the AM and dried out almost completely (with a little standing water in a few spots) in the afternoon. Had a really good time with 0 offs (did see quite a few right in front of me) and came home with the car in one piece.

My instructor timed me at 2:08 on a cold dampish track and I didn't get passed all day so I'm happy.

    Dayum Ken's fast!

He reaches 99.9 mph on the stretch tween five and six; I'm maybe doing that on the 2000'+ straight tween six and seven and he's hitting 111!

Hey Nails, Thanks for the offer. Looks like I'm not going to be able to make it up there tomorrow after all. my Parents decided to come into town this weekend at the last minute. Sure looks like fun though.

No problem. They are only allowing ride-alongs with instructors anyway. I'm not able to take passengers and Ken's not slowing down enough for you to jump in.

Cosmos that's quite a respectable time. About what I put down on dead street tires earlier this year.

    And the M3 isn't slow!

I'm somewhat afraid of that 2000' backstretch. Iphone says 71* tomorrow. :)

Yup. Thats why I told jeff he won't be passing everyone. And your also right about the straights, Quan was hitting a little over 95 I'm on hitting 85 and ken's hitting 111.

I've not pulled the data logs, but I was hitting an indicated 124+ on the long straight.

Too bad I have to fling all that weight around in the corners.

BEAUTIFUL weather today. Can you believe it's DECEMBER?!

Great seeing everyone out there having a blast today.

I had to back off in a few sections on corner exit with the wet track/low grip, plus first time out I didn't want to put my car into a rock pit. I once saw a video on youtube of some red car that didn't brake in time and went off the end, didn't look fun

No, I shift from 4th to 5th at 110. I max out around 125 or so.
