It's more a matter of principal than money. I just don't want to put much money into an old beater dd miata.

How? New set of 15X9 TR motorsports and 255 RS3's are already close to 1K shipped.

Well I got lucky on my set of 15x9 with half used rs3 for 300..all my parts are used right around 950 bucks...if I do anything else I might upgrade to coilovers again..but I'm just testing this setup for now..

I've always thought it would be stupid to buy a set of race tires at the very end of the season. My belief is that the avaialble tires would have already spent months in a non-climate controlled warehouse before I get them, and I would run just 1 event before tossing them into my own non-climate controlled garage for months before the next season. Anyone know if there's any legitimacy to this? I just want to put my mind at ease, since I did just buy a new set of RS-3's for the sole purpose of attending this event. Does anyone know how to identify the manufacture date of RS-3s?

All tires have a date code on them, just google it. Other than sub-freezing temps, street tires are fairly immune to temp issues if they are bagged and kept out of the sun. I've had no issues with the RS3's that sat through the winter last year, or the Falkens the year before. I did haul them into the laundry room during the week we had freezing temps, but a garage is generally 5-10 degrees warmer than the outside air.

The ideal solution might be to have them shaved in the spring, since that will expose the fresh rubber for max grip and you won't have wasted much tire in the process. I have to admit that my shaved RS3's at nats were stoopid-fast.

Default NTAXS Autocross #6, 11/18/12, Dallas Raceway

    NTAXS season points update.

Armstrong Vongsavath has won the S2000 class and will receive a free entry into a 2014 event of his choice.

Mike McShane has won Class 1, so he will also receive a free entry in 2014.

Kenny Baker has won Class 1R. Chalk down a free 2014 entry there too.

Class 2 is still up in the air with Chris Hunt at 20 points and Chris Fithian at 18 points. One of them will get a free entry in 2014.

Ken Orgeron has won class 2R, netting a free 2014 entry.

There will be no winner for Class 3 since no one will have attended three events.

Class 3R is a battle between David Jones (15 points), Joseph Kan (11 points), Michael Reck (10 points), and Mark Wortham (7 points). All four drivers have only run two events in this class, so they need to attend the 11/18 event in order to be eligible.

    Remember, the position points are:
    9 points- First place
    6 points- Second place
    4 points- Third place
    3 points- Fourth place
    2 points- Fifth place
1 point – Sixth place and all other participants in class

Congratulations to the class winners thus far, and good luck to those still fighting.

Free entries are for 2013, not 2014. I wrote that while I was visiting next year. I don't want to spill much about the future, but we need to be friendlier to the apes.

Russ is already on the ER board, so we're off to a good start.

Stock market is crashing. I am investing in NTAXS entries. Expect the price to increase once I buy the remaining slots.
