Biggest reason is jubilee clamps are not the best clamp for small diameter hoses like the 'lil bastard collection of hoses in a Miata. Plus no way you can over tighten the spring clamp.
Plus the new ones come ready to run put them in position and pull the clip and you are done.

I used worm-drive clamps on my heater hoses (where they go in to the firewall). Was leaking with clampy clamps, no leaks with worms.
I can see the worm-drive might not work well with extra small diameters. Carry on!
Mazdaseed had em cheap $2.19 for one size and the heater hose ones are $3.08 each.
Plus you don't have to try and get a screwdriver in some of those tight spots. Beauty is you can put the clamp on the hose then just slide the clamp where you need it and just pull the clip. Try getting a screw driver behind the motor on that damn Back of Motor to Oil Cooler Hose.
There is a reason all car companies use em they are cheap, faster to assemble, and they work for years and years.
How did the prices compare to this dealer? http://www.mazdaparts.org/mazda-miat...-hose-kit.html and http://www.mazdaparts.org/mamihehokit9.html
The little clips are genius!

Holy Cow I forgot what a PITA replacing all those 'lil baster hoses is!!! Had a wheel off dropped the intake brace and took the alternator out to give myself easier access.
But the new clamps are the way to go just position pull the safety and you are done!![]()
