Say what you want about me, but don't disparage on tailchaser's good work here... and he's doing it for free.

From the inception of MME (January 2004), all the resources needed and used to keep this website/forum up and running have been funded by tailchaser. To that end, we are now accepting donations to help pay for all of this. Please note that this is strictly voluntary. The forums will continue to remain free to one and all - and we will avoid banner advertising, pop-ups and other abominations. The spiffy new software the forum is running on is not freeware like the original was, and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

There are three options if you'd like to contribute:

1. $10 will get you file/picture upload privileges, larger avatar file size, and other goodies for a full year!
2. $25 will get you a 2 year subscription and a set of MME window decals. Decals will be available for pickup from one of our admins as soon as your payment is verified. If you need them mailed to you, please contact us to make arrangements.
3. Any amount less than $10 you feel comfortable with - contact us to find out how to send non-standard payments.

My typical answer to the question at hand is that I'm a corporate lacky and part-time wall builder. I usually leave out the fact that I get to tear stuff apart, too. Great for anger management!

No tech background for me, though I do have the best typing and 10-key skills in my department...like it matters.

I wonder is there some kind of connection between people that do IT and related feilds of work and miatas? Seems like everyone here does something like that.

You may have missed the mark there. According to your poll, 81.48% are non-geeks. I teach math and such to the people Sharpie and TtT didn't influence either way.

OTOH, most of us have a computer and like to sound like we know something about them

My previous career was in IT Support (Internal Support) but I got tired of being laid off yet again and I didn't want to be fifty years old with no job security.

Currently I am a full-time stay-at-home Dad for my 9 month old daughter and work for FedEx part-time in the evenings. Petty cool gig too!
