Got my garage all cleaned out and organized about a 3 weeks ago in anticipation of these storms.
I am at Rowlett and for a total of 5 to 10 minutes it felt like 20 guys were up on the roof beating it with hammers!I need to go up there to check out the damage when I get home. Question is at what level of damage can/should I call the insurance people?

The Tahoe stays outside... I checked it this morning and saw no hail dents.
Yikes, I got the Mini tucked away under some cover before it came but we only got pea size if that for about 3 minutes.
VW Bug in running shoes
M Porcupine sedan
M Porcupine coupe
Crusty old e46 beater
Battery Powered appliance car
DeSoto got nothing, but all the cars except the 92 Checy truck live in the garage these days.
RE: shingle damage, you want to look for any hit that penetrates the "gravel" layer to reveal the asphalt layer, and wind damage. Most insurance companies will not cover hits that penetrate the shingle directly over a nailhead or staple, as that is from improper installation. If you got golf-ball size or larger and have 3-tab shingles, you probably have damage. If your hail was smaller and/or you have the heavier "textured" 30+ year shingles, you probably don't.
