Default NTAXS Autocross Event #1, 3/21/2009, Pennington Field

The North Texas Autocross Series (NTAXS), sponsored by the North Texas S2000 Owners Club (NTS2KOC), is hosting our first autocross of the season on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Pennington Field in Bedford. We are charging a season-opener special price of only $20 per person and you must pre-register at http://www.dlbracing.com/Clubs/ntaxs...x?EventID=3801. The event is limited to 60 drivers. Please join us for a great day of racing and fun.

This event will focus on season opener novice training, so it will feature an in-depth course walk-through and ride-along instructors for novices or anyone seeking additional tips and techniques. It’s a great event for first timers!

Car Classing is based on engine size:
    - Class 1/1R is for engines under 2.3 liters, except Honda S2000 and Lotus
    Elise/Exige.
    - Class 2/2R is for engines over 2.2 liters, but under 4.0 liters, plus Honda S2000.
    - Class 3/3R is for engines over 3.9 liters, plus Lotus Elise/Exige.
    - Class S2000 is only for Honda

Rotary engine multiplies displacement by 2.0. Usage of forced induction multiplies displacement by 1.5. (This is in addition to the rotary multiplier, if applicable.) Tires with a wear rating under 140 must use the R class.

8 AM –9 AM Check-in, Registration, and mandatory Tech Inspection
8:15 AM –9:30 AM Course open for walking
    9 AM –9:30 AM Novice Walk-through
    9:45 AM Drivers Meeting (mandatory)
    10:00 AM First car out
(45-minute lunch break between morning and afternoon heats)

View the rules and additional information at http://www.s2000.org/nts2koc/autox.shtml.

Refer to the attached flyer for more information or contact me at jrj512 at dfwmx5 dot com.

    Might want to rephrase this:

"Class 1/1R is for engines under 2.3 liters, accept Honda S2000 and Lotus
    Elise/Exige."

I would love for the Elise or S2000 to be able to run in Class 1/1R
    VW Bug in running shoes
    M Porcupine sedan
    M Porcupine coupe
    Crusty old e46 beater
    Battery Powered appliance car

On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

As stated in the rules, any S2000 with R-comps (<140 tread wear) go into class 2R.

Does the FI rule apply if it is factory?

Would a 1.6L Mini turbo be in class 2/2R or 1/1R?
If it is 2/2R I think you're an ass clown. Wait, I already thought that. I think you are King of the Ass Clowns and your mother is one too.

^I like his thinking. The Evo would be in 1/1R too

(It would still be driven by me, so I won't win either way)

    That's some strange classing!

So, my stock Porsche 924S with a 2.5 Liter engine (E-Stock classed car in SCCA) get's classed with a Honda S2000 (an A-Stock classed car in SCCA).

    Hmmmmm??

Sorry, man, but that's life. We did the best we could while still keeping it simple. I do not want to get into complicated classes like SCCA's classes. Those classes turn off a lot of people who have performed minor mods to their cars and end up in a Prepared or Modified class. Our classing system is based on a mixture of the old S2000 classes (you would be in Other or Other R with anything that is not a Miata or S2000) and the Lone Star BMW CCA classes (you would be in class Y).
