Default Good affordable A/C guy near north Dallas

Hey guys, my brother has a Mazda 6 that's in need of some air conditioner work. Anyone know a shop they'd recommend in the north Dallas/Plano/Frisco area?

    Regards,

I topped off the refrigerant in three cars this weekend. It was easier than I thought it would be. Walmart $17 for the gauge/hose, $5 for a can of oil, $9 each for cans for R134a. I used 3 cans. Use goggles and heavy gloves. The instructions come with the gauge/hose. Three cars blowing cold air now.

One of his hoses apparently has a leak at the coupling. He's thinking about replacing the hose himself, but will need to get it evacuated by a pro. But he cant be sure thats the only leak. Can't a pro shop check for leaks by pulling a vacuum on the system and watching for pressure variations?

    Regards.

Technicare in Dallas does very good work. He has a sensor that will detect even the smallest leaks throught the system. I was having a problem with my Dodge Ram several years ago and no one could figure out why it was loosing refrigerant. He was able to determine the seal on the compressor was bad and the refrigerant was leaking around the pully shaft. He showed me how it worked and how sensitive it is.

You can rent a vacuum pump from VatoZone. As for finding the leak, that one can be tricky, depending on how bad it is. A/C is usually straight forward but if you can't find the leak it can be a real PITA.
