I registered. I hope I make the cut. Travis and Robyn told me at the hotel this past weekend that they haven't culled the list yet, but they are already at the max number of registrants, and that previous DE is a requirement. I have no DE experience besides Miatas@Hallett this past weekend. I participated in the PCA Time Trials in Mineral Wells back in May, but that's not DE. I did try to increase my chances by telling them that I'm always delighted to do corner work!

Miatas are allowed with no rollbar as long as the top is up right?

You may need to be on street tires and not R-comps, also.
On the track, I am fearless.
If you were as slow as me, you wouldn't be afraid either.

That is what I used to do.

When will we find out if we made the cut? I got a confirmation, saying my CC has been charged already. I would think they wouldn't send that out if you weren't going to be able to run.

Cut off for registration is Wednesday, the 15th, so I guess we'll find out some time between then and the weekend.

Your card will get refunded if you're cut. That's what Robyn told me.

My status on the clubregistration site is now showing "Confirmed".

I just received an email with my drivers packet. I noticed the tech form includes a line for a roll bar. Since I don't have one, or a hard top, I may not be eligible to run. I have sent Travis a note asking him to clarify the rule on this.

You can run with the soft top up. Or at least I used to.

I'm curious about that too, Chris. Please let us know what you find out.

Just spoke with Travis. He said running with the soft top up will be fine.

I actually have a roll bar, sitting in the garage, so I am going to try to get it installed Saturday so this will not be an issue in the future.

Roll bars are cool , but take a long time to install and usually result in less effective working seatbelts . I'd expect it to take longer than expected if first time... And on track you want your seatbelt tight as possible to keep you in your seat with the higher continuos g-forces

I my experience installing roll bars, if you try to do this yourself only, it will be a very long day.
If you have 3-4 friends helping, then it will be 1/2 day work.

I need 3 or 4 friends to help me! I'm buying lunch for my friends -- I just need to see when and where!

I would put in the roll bar, a soft top isn't going to do jack crap to protect you if you flip.

Actually, the soft top boughs will break, impale you and put you out of your misery more quickly. So . . . .
