Default Any have experience with this place?

wholesaleimportparts.com? I'm looking at getting a new propeller shaft from them, but can't find any reviews or opinions on them. According to their website. they've got a new '99 propeller shaft for $250 - free shipping.

Can't find anyone selling the mazda part number on internet. Called a couple of mazda dealships, they want around $580 for the part. Found a couple of other places on froogle searching '99 miata drive/propeller shaft' that have it for $270 shipped, few different domains, I think its the same store. They claim its new, but not mazda I'm guessing.

I'm pretty sure that's where I bought my tail light. It was delivered damaged, and I called and they refunded the money, and told me to keep the light, which I was able to salvage using the old one.

220,000 miles, getting loud squeaking from approximate location of the propeller shaft - listening from under car with wheels turning. Can't 100% tell its the prop shaft as the sound is radiating, and it only does it under fairly heavy reverse load. But it sounds like the propeller shaft, and its the cheapest option between the diff & tranny.

I realize the propeller shaft isn't actually making the noise, the u-joints are, but those are non-serviceable AFAIK. Am I wrong?

Why not see if someone has one lying around and try it and see if the noises change with a different propshaft before ya go dump a load a pennies on a new one.

IIRC it wasn't a tough job to do when I put my propshaft back in the POSIV.

BTW. Sort of related; My rear bearing noise would not show up with the car on jackstands only when it was loaded.

This will make the noise on jack stands, but I have to get in into 4th gear or above run the engine up to about 4K, then let it coast down before you can hear it. On the road you can hear it at all speeds under reverse load. I found a place in Dallas called Drive Shaft King who will build me a new one for $325 with serviceable u-joints. Thinking about going that route.

I don't know anyone with a good '99 drive shaft laying around, else that would be my 1st choice. I guess I can post here and see.

You might check with Stoney at Late Model Import Salvage over on Carson in FW 888.629.8070. They recently had a 2001 come in that only had 30k on it. They probably still have the shaft. Didn't check but I would think they'll swap between a 99 and 01.
