Default What is your favorite football-themed movie?

There have been quite a few football movies released over the last few years. I will start watching a few from my collection soon to get ready for the new football season. Which one is YOUR favorite??

I still like "Remember the Titans" because I grew up in that era and remember all of the racial issues back then. "Invincible", "Blindside", "Rudy" and "The Express" are all great stories.

I liked the Longest Yard with Burt.

"The Longest Yard", not the Adam Sandler remake.

"Friday Night Lights" - I'm a big fan of the book and the TV show too.

"Necessary Roughness" - Yeah it's goofy... haven't seen it in a while, but I may need to rewatch it. BTW, the campus scenes were filmed at UNT (Go Mean Green!).

Brian's Song and the original Longest Yard.

    Blindside was good too.

North Dallas Forty. The opening scene with Nick Nolte barely able to move is greatness.

Well, as probably the only Redskins fan on this forum, I'd have to say "The Replacements" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0191397/) is up there... not because its a particularly good movie, but because its a hollywoodized version of the 1982 season with its Players Strike, where the Redskins eventually won the Super Bowl. But I suppose I'd have to go with "We are Marshall", with an Honorable Mention to "The Blind Side".

Definitely enjoyed 'The Replacements'. Your mention of the strike reminds me that I used to have a cheesy shirt that boldly stated "I survived the NFL strike of 1982". Those were the days!

A long time ago, I worked with Steve Orsini, who is currently the athletic director for SMU. He told me that he played football with Joe Montana at Notre Dame. Rudy was at Notre Dame when he was there. He told me Rudy made a living (maybe still does) as a motivational speaker to businesses and other groups.
