    Default 97 M-edition on Craigslist

Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes...

Hey folks, I noticed a 97 m-edition for sale over in FW from a car dealership. It has a salvage title, and I was wondering if anyone knew the previous owner. I'd like to know a little history about the car and maybe why it was salvaged.

    Regards.

I don't know this car or its history, but I will simply advise that used car dealers in DFW seem to overprice Miatas by about $2K, especially the M-edition, which they perceive to be rare.

    If it's this one - http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/ctd/2621158738.html -

I don't think it's an M...looks like the wrong shade of green to me. $4250 on a '97 salvaged car is high IMO...M-Edition or not.

$4250 is NB territory these days. I wouldn't touch that one with a 10 foot pole.

It's an M, look at the seats and the guages. Seems high being that it's a salvage title, but with BBS' and a hardtop. 3k would be a great buy. Color is probably wrong from the repair after the wreck.

Agreed that the price is way too high for salvage. I was just interested because of the set-up. The BBS wheels look to be the 14's off a 92/93? Looks like it might have been lowered as well. It sits far lower than my current M. I was just hoping to find out some history cause I thought a friend of mine would be interested. He has to get another car out of his driveway first though.

    Regards.

$4,000 is not bad it comes with the hardtop and the bbs wheels,

Get that black 94 down to $3K and youve probably got a winner.

The salvage car would be good at $3K too if it isn't totally screwed up. The wheels and hardtop would get you almost half your money back, then it would be a good weekend/track starting point.

The '99 says it has a clean title. I take that to mean not salvaged or reconditioned.

But, yeah, that '94 could be winner-winner-chicken-dinner at the right price!
