Post Clutch chatter after engine warms up....

I was told that there was a little clutch chatter when i bought the car however, I hadn't experienced it much before. I have now! The symptoms don't appear until the engine has been warmed up... i.e. driving back from Lone Star park. Then it isn't noticeable, (no slippage in higher gears etc.) until you are starting from a stop, and only then starting in 1st. Once the car\engine cools down it goes away.

    What's your prognosis?

'01 NB, 125k, and no idea how old the clutch is.

    Time for a new clutch?

On my '02 the problem was also the flywheel. Replaced it with an older model Miata Flywheel and a Mazda clutch and it has been fine ever-since!

    Thanks all.

Rogue should I buy a clutch from Mazda Speed and have you do the clutch and flywheel?

What's the differences in the flywheels? Older ones are better balanced?

Ive never heard a concise reason, but it wouldn't be a balance issue.

Metallurgical differences is my theory. Think Mazda went with lowest bidder on the '01-03' flywheels.

I went OEM Clutch kit and on older resurfaced flywheel put about 20,000 miles on it so far and no shudder. YMMV see Rogue for details.

I would go with MazComp mounts (NAY1-39-040) and maybe rebuild the shifter.
