Ranger pitching is on fire.
This season, I've reached my Baseball Tipping Point. Let's call it The Perfect Storm - listening to too much Ticket radio (Baseball Jesus), finally appreciating great hometown pitching, fascinated by fantastic "small ball" with Jules Bourbon and Tiny Elvis, etc etc etc.
For the first time since I played YMCA ball (like, 25 years ago - ouch...), I'm a baseball fan! I think I've reached the same "tipping point" that I did with the Mavs a few years ago. I've watched enough of the game to finally pick up on the nuances and separate the wheat from the chaff. I can now watch a no-crowd doubleheader like the one against Cleveland and get excited in spite of the fact that they've got barely 500 people in the stands.
I mentioned this in a previous post, but when the home crowd started going apeshit for O'Day the other night, I got goosebumps - even watching it on TV.
So, anyhow, the race is still tight, and we've got plenty of games left against the Angels, so I think we can still pull out The Impossible - a Division Championship!
Whoulda thunk it?
(Knock on wood, before I jinx anything...)
