Smartphones and youtube have forever changed the concert experience
Last night the wife took me to the Green Day concert at Superpages. First, let me say that out of 100's of concerts I have attended, I can not recall a better one. Green Day played for a solid 3 hours, playing every hit they have ever had, almost every song from the last 2 albums, and even 2 separate 10 minute medleys of their favorites by everyone from the Beatles to GnR to Black Sabbath to Tom Petty. I will be looking forward to the next time they come to town.
But to my point... All concert long, there were 100's of people holding their spartphones in the air, recording videos. When I woke up this morning, I searched "green day dallas" on youtube and found 33 videos already posted in the last 24hrs. I am sure that with time one could piece together the entire concert from youtube clips. Remember the days when you could go to jail for stuff like that?
