I just needed to vent a bit.
Lake Lavon, McKinney's primary source of water is finally at capacity. Yet the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) remains in Stage 3.In fact, they suggest no change until later this year or early next year.
Typical government, they pass the blame on restrictions set by the State of Texas.
Now here's the kicker.
According to McKinney's Information Website
"City officials estimate that Parks and municipal building irrigation meters account for approximately 90 percent of all city-related water usage."
So how is it that washing my car or watering my yard make any significant affect on water levels?
Side note: McKinney's Water Restrictions used to say no washing cars with a hose, now it states "No Home Car Washing".
There is some hope though. According to the same website mentioned above,
"The McKinney City Council is meeting at a special work session on June 4 where the council will discuss the possibility of easing current Stage 3 restrictions. In addition, the city is planning a public meeting with North Texas Municipal Water District officials for June 21."
I'm tempted to see if I can attend the city council meeting and voice my frustration.

I washed both my Matas in the driveway tonight, I just wanted to share!
I've resorted to washing the car in the garage with the door closed in case some overzealous do-gooder wants to report me for destroying the planet.
It's a sick, sad world when I can get a larger fine for washing my car on the wrong day of the week than I can for selling crack.![]()

At Rowlett we are still at stage III, but they ease the car wash (still no unattended running hose) and lawn sprinkler restriction to 2 days a week!I dusted off my power washer last week! I may wash the engine next week! Sweet!

Interesting, my posts about trivial topics keep disappearing...
Don't worry about the water level at Lake Lavon, soon they will be pumping recycled Dallas sewer water into it!! (Dallas Morning News article 5/20/07).

This post is local and black roadster has TRIED to make it car related, so it didn't get deleted. The LESS pressing and socially relevant, the better around here. This is an AUTOMOBILE forum. Discussions that start with "Hold my beer and watch this..." are the sort of thing that should happen here in Bull... Political postings are decidedly NOT bull, but they're decidedly NOT welcome here. We try to maintain low toxicity and high literacy.

I really didn't think the post we're talking about would be considered politically offensive. I did, however, think it might be interesting to others, which is why I posted it to begin with, not to create any problems.
So we'll try to keep it carefree and car-related.
Hey! How bout that crazy Lindsey Lohan? (hic! sniff) CRASH!!!
