Why would we give up a car for a ring when we're single?

Sounds like "Lose, Lose, Lose" to me...
Lose yer Miata. Lose yer nutz. Lose yer taste and class when it comes to yer lady's jewelery...

My gf would choke me to death by shoving that down my throat and then running me over with my own Miata if I tried to give it to her

Personally I wouldn't do it, single or married/engaged/whatever. I was just wondering why this applied to single guys.

I saw that yesterday.
Just curious, why is the chick selling her own engagement ring? Shouldn't the "lucky guy" be doing that? Don't guys buy the engagement ring for their future wife?
I don't think this chick is cool.
Hmmm... you raise a very good point. I do believe the courts have weighed in on this recently.

Man... what a slut...
Hmmm... but maybe it's the guy that's trying to get rid of it...?

I always heard it depended on who called off the wedding? If the girl calls it off she needs to return the ring. If the guy does, there is no obligation to do so but why would she want it?
Sentimental reasons? "Remember when I was going to get married but got dumped instead?"
