Thread: Jersey is just weird (w/ photo evidence)

Default Jersey is just weird (w/ photo evidence)

So I'm in southern Jersey for work until the 20th or so. Sure enough, outside of the gas-pumpers' union (self-serve doesn't exist here) and statewide issue with left turns (as in you can't make any), we happened upon this lucid vision of weird on Wednesday afternoon while driving...on a highway!

    Ummm...yeah.
Should there be any doubt in your mind, yes, he is towing a lawn mower...with his bike.

Can I come back to Texas yet??

I seriously doubt that was on a highway. Having grown up in NJ, I can tell you highways don't have sidewalks. You might have been on a state road, but besides the Garden State Parkway and the NJ Turpike and a few others, they are all considered side roads.

Now, what's the issue with left turns? I was just in NJ in July, and I made all the lefts I wanted. What town are you in?

For a bit of fun you could go to Atlantic City, May's Landing, Long Beach Island, and Seaside Heights (mid Jersey). Don't forget the Thomas Edison Museum.

The photo was taken on Route 38. While I wouldn't classify it as being quite as highwayish as, say, Interstate 35 or something, it's bigger than 75 (in Dallas) was until the widening a while back. Just ignore the sidewalk, though, okay?

We've been spending most of our time in the Mt. Laurel/Cherry Hill area. Most left turns entail a "jug handle" turnabout, and then a left from a less major road. It's a constant source of jokes from us.

Too bad is wasn't a self-propelled mower. It would have been funnier if the mower was pulling him.
