I'm scheduled for Sunday now. The weather is supposed to be nicer.
Vid on track: http://forums.dfwmiata.com/showpost....7&postcount=34
I run E85, so 93 doesn't help me. They also have the higher stuff. Prices at the pump aren't cheap FYI. So if you have a 5g container or whatever your econoboxes use in a couple sessions, bring it with you.
Just be sure to take them out of the trunk/backseat before going out on track
As far as lots of room to go off?
No... Well there's some but it's not nicely groomed.

91 when i was there at $7 a gal and this is not a track to go off on. i didn't see one place i would not shit my self dropping a wheel. took the inside line under braking. went to deep mid 3 and went off not going very fast and it felt like i was do 100+ in a rock quay.
altiain want to go for a ride along? i promise i wont jump the turn 9 curbing..... ok maybe once![]()
I'm signed up for both days
here's my video from august. First time at track, first time on NT01's that had incorrect air pressure and a torsen that kept letting the inside tire spin.
The track is easy to learn. Long straights are boring but all of the turning is fun, as you would expect with a low horsepower miata.
Wags, did you rent the track for your own personal day? No other cars in sight LOL...
Mr. BRG, the track is a blast. I saw you running at Hallet (different group than me) and you will likely be getting around 140 at the end of the long back straight (IIRC ECR back straight seems almost twice as long as the front straight at Hallet).
I did the toy run at ECR last year. Passing is "supposed" to be only point bys on the straight bits (lots of them), however I was divebombed inside in a few corners by some really fast and nice GT3RS (or whatever those bazillionty dollar Porsches are numbered). No big deal to me, they knew what they were doing. Seems like they let the members run on "different" groups as they wish, as they were well above my skill and speed. Again, no biggie..
As far as going off, yeah, there's a few scary looking bits... but that's what makes it exciting no?
It's not a miata only gig like Hallett or Garys day at Cresson. There will be a bit of everything. In my run group there were the aforementioned porsches (2 or 3 of the rascals), couple o' big Mustangs that did not believe in pointing by an NA miata, or lifting if they did, a few spec boxters and miatas, and some fire belching crazy fast evo/subie buggys that defy physics in corners and logic on the straights. You see Atoms, Caterhams, etc. and my fav was the Cayman suv that followed me on pit out and FILLED my mirrors as I tried to warm up my cold tires on a cold track
In other words. More fun than should be legally allowed. I'm in for both days.
Black miata w/hardtop. Stop by and say hi, or wave as you go by!

Oh man, the last thing I need is someone nosing in if I don't drive the defense line. I don't really want to argue with a track-member about damage on his $200k (and my $1600 car) car because he nosed-in at a DE.
I like playing with the faster cars though...its the reason I built it.
btw, john and six-ace have the same av.
TXMC: Drinkin, shootin, racin!
Looks like I'm in for Sunday. Woohoo! Never driven ECR before, but the surface looks pretty bumpy from the videos I saw. I guess they've patched it up quite a bit?
