Well, the best laid plans ...... My wife just told me that we will be in Atlanta that weekend. I guess I will have to wait a week. What is the Street survival thing in Ardmore the following week?

For any of you heading up through Commerce, beware that the State Troopers like to patrol 24, and they have no problem issuing you a ticket for 5-6 mph over. Don't ask me how I know.

I'm going to sit this one out. Y'all have fun.

I just got word from someone who checked it out this morning that the surface is in very nice condition.

Tommy Saunders actually went up there last week & took some photos.

He says there's some good potential for the site! Airport folks were very nice to him & let him look around quite a bit.

Jen & I are signed up for the Paris event.

There might be a TX Region event for there in the works!!

Sounds like a cool venue, some of them turn out great, some others not so much (grayson county airport anyone?) Unfortunately, or fortunately I'll be in San Fran/San Diego on our honeymoon!

Update people, I was on the airport this morning and the concrete pavement is far better than I expected. it is concrete slab type but it has been crack sealed in the last few years. Super wide areas for the course and pit parking. Far better than the Mineral Well concrete. This can turn out to be an awesome event. Hope to see everyone there!

Which Fri-Sun? We'll be there 16-18th I think, I would be honored to have you buy us dinner at a fancy seafood restaurant :)

Gonna play some golf at Torrey Pines probably on the 16th.

We're going to do the SCCA/TMS Road Course event on the 17th, otherwise we'd come check this one out.

Brad - Let us know how the surface is... thanks. That's closer than Miserable Wells for us north Dallas folks, at least.

Don't go if you're having your 'monthly visit'. I hear it attracts sharks.

Thought I would give some help with directions from Richardson area. I have been told that TOM TOM and other GPS devices route you in strange ways. Its VERY Simple
Take I-75 North, then take exit 45 to Melissa and be on State Highway 121. Stay on 121 all the way to Bonham, Texas. 121 will change to US 56 at the stop light turn LEFT onto SH 78, you will go through 2 stop lights. After the second you will come to an overpass take the on ramp to the right that puts you on US 82. Take US 82 all the way into Paris. when you get to Paris take the LOOP 286 exit to the right. follow that around till you reach the US 271 South exit to the right. once on US 271 you will travel about 2 miles before you see a sign to COX FIELD. Turn you your left onto Airport Road. You will run right into the airport. AT THE MOST 1 1/2 hour. I drive it all the time!

This will be an excellent site. Closer than Mineral Wells for most and easier on tires. Come out to the inaugural event. Don't worry about low turn out, more runs for you.
