Cool. The silly season has been kinda tame so far this year. This should change that.

I do see one oversight in the classing verbiage - as written, there is nothing that prevents the Spec Civics (which would now be in STS) from upclassing to STX. ST cars are specifically prohibited, but not STS.

i'd love to see ST and STX on seperate days....and then see some ST guys swap trannies to a LSD trans to run said spec civic in STX.

If STX is too damn slow then so be it.

Just create STC(ivic) for civics and CRXs and be done LOL

Cars will not be able to class hop under the new rules. Cars are going to be listed for each class like SP, instead of the was it's done now. Can the Civics keep up with the miatas and CRXs?

So if this had happened this past year, STS at nationals would have been a 90 car field!

Yeah the verbiage is confusing. It says cars will be specifically listed for each class. So no upclassing and I'm assuming no other old crapboxes will be allowed in the new ST.

14.10.E Non-standard catalytic converter(s) are allowed, but must mount in the same location (relative to the chassis), as the OE converter(s). All but the primary converter(s) may be removed. Catalytic converters must be of the OE type (i.e. oxidation, three-way, etc.). If the replacement catalyst substrate/core is shorter than the original, it must be located entirely within the length of the original”.
Does this allow the use of catless headers on the NC? If the oem header-cat is a "pre-cat", as I have heard, wouldn't this allow it to be removed?

That's exactly what it would mean. I think it would be a good rule even though it would further handicap the NB regarding relative power in STR.
