I like to use brake cleaner and a brillo pad to wash my car. It really works like magic on the bugs.
Hey everyone. I've been surfing the web an I came across a thread saying that I should wash mu miata with the top down...I'm not too sure why. I anyone has sone info on this, or alternate techniques I'd appreciate it. Also, how do you take care of your soft top?
Thanks-Josh.

Why in the hell would you wash the car with the top down??
Don't believe everything you read on the interweb.
I use this stuff for the tops on my Miatas - http://www.wolfsteins.com/products.htm

When mine is real dirty I like to let it soak it overnight. But I do leave the top up so my insurance card doesn't get wet.

don't forget to check fluid levels. Have to make sure the blinker fluid is filled, that's an easy one to get pulled over for.

JRRosales post up the link to the top down car wash method!
When you read wash your miata top less they are talking about females not your car.

How coarse of a brillo pad should I use?

It makes more sense after reading that thread. They are talking about hand washing with a low pressure water hose. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

Yep I still feel the same way. Some old post off of Miata.net isn't going to change my mind.
I am very particular on the cleanliness of all my cars. Why not clean the top when you are washing the car???
I've got a top cleaning brush and I always wash the top first then I clean the rest of the exterior of the car.

HA I've actually used pledge a few times when I was out of Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish. It worked pretty good and made the bike smell good to boot :)
