NBC Sports Group will televise all 20 F1™ races -- four on NBC and 16 on NBC Sports Network -- as well as qualifying, practice sessions, studio shows and re-airs that amount to more than 100 hours of programming annually. The Grand Prix of Canada in June as well as the final three races of the 2013 season in November will air on NBC, while the remaining 16 races will air on NBC Sports Network.
All 20 F1™races will be live streamed on NBC Sports Live Extra, the NBC Sports Group’s live-stream platform that is available online at NBCSports.com as well as on mobile and tablet apps."

The section I highlighted in red doesn't mean they will broadcast practice or qualifying, they simply have exclusive rights to it so they can block anyone from showing or viewing it on the continent. We will be lucky to see the race without editing, I seriously doubt we'll see a lap of qualifying or practice when NBC could be airing things like classic golf, tennis, or trucker felching. It's not about providing good coverage, it's about controlling what you see to appease the people who pay rent. I assume whoever is paying for golf and tennis don't want you watching F1.Originally Posted by wrx74

Last qualifying and race on Speed is worth watching if for no other reason than to take a walk down memory lane with the commentators. Hobbs was/is hilarious!

Yep, funnier than usual. It's pretty sad since this is the last race, I basically grew-up listening to these guys.
I wonder if we'll get at least 2-hours of coverage per race or if NBC will cut it down to 60 or 90 minutes of coverage? the NBC pre-race IRL coverage is grotesque and the commentary is unlistenable. Speed does a good job broadcasting all other racing series, NBC's coverage is miserable shit.
This will be the last race worth watching on TV, enjoy it.
