Ironically after my last post some months ago about being overran with animals and children, we were left with none at all(well still have the kids, haha)
We found the parrot a home.
Our cat is happy as anything running the neighborhood, I think he lives at the neighbors house actually, so we only see him every couple nights since he's scared of my kids.
Our loving/crackhead lab found a home with a 6 y/o boy who's mother passed away last year. Perfect match since the poor kid was depressed.
We filled in the holes in the backyard and all was well untill a few months later someone left the gate opened, our beloved small dog we've had for 8 years got out and was ran over by a car. It's heartbreaking, my son has been asking where Solo went for the last couple months.
Now that I work nights, I need a security system for my family...and if it's worth doing, it's worth over-doing, so English Mastiff.
Her mommy and daddy. Pictured next to my ugly mug for size reference. These dogs are enormous, but were delicate around my 1 and 3 year olds. Perfect breed for us.
I'll probably bring her out to a couple Wed meets, since a dog of this size must be very socialized. I'll wait till shes a few months older.
Still trying to find a quirky name. Trying to get my 3 year old to come up with something random, but he doesn't understand the concept really yet.

Well done! Those are great dogs... every one I've ever met has been a giant pussy(cat), but your average burglar just sees "GIANT F***ING DOG/BEAR/HORSE" and moves right along.

^I think that was a bullmastiff. Could be wrong though, but we looked into those, they're supposed to be a little more wirey temperament, not as laid back as the english mastiffs.
But the guy did warn me the dad mastiff got bored and ate half a 2x4 in the back yard one afternoonThen he showed me what he did to the chain link fence when his female was in heat, bit through it like it was coat hanger wire. He went to that welded aluminum fence material after that. Gotta be careful with them, that's for sure, they apparently have like 3x the bite strength of a pit bull.
We've crate trained our recent dogs and it's paid off bigtime. This one seems to love it so far, so that's what we'll stick with...well as long as she fits in the crates we can afford anyway...
