You might also throw in that you would like some information on the various extended warranty plans "so you can start thinking about this ahead of time". Don't commit to it, just let them think that you likely will. I have nothing to base it on, but I would think they might be inclined to move another $250 on the price of the car if they think that they are going to be able to mark up a warranty by $500 on you once you move to the back room.

Yup... if you don't sit in the interior. Just mothball it and look at it every now and then.

Yes. It may look nice now, but 30k miles down the road it's going to look like crap. Black is mo' betta'. Black cloth would be my choice, but I'm not really into leather in cars in Texas. Didja know it get's freakin' hot down here?

On an unrelated note, lemme know who you work with and at what dealer,if you end up in an MS6. If I can't time the sale of my cars right, I may end up having to buy a new RX-8 instead of the one I'd like to bring home from Topeka, and I'll be in the same position as you (no trade, don't need dealer financing, etc.)

Too bad you didn't have the cash now, Vandergriff Acura has an '04 (red) on the lot right now... Just looked, they have 2 (both red though)! I don't remember the price (it wasn't that bad, IMO), but one of them was in the classifieds.

    Red is for fairies.

Seriously, there is a certian used one I'm interested in, but I can't pick it up until the end of September. If that doesn't work out, I'll probably just buy new and get the exact car I want. I'll just bring in the engine recall notice, remind the sales guy that they might have a hard time dumping inventory when the cars all have bum motors, and negotiate from there.

Well if you decide you want some torque... they have this in the showroom too ($63k)

I wonder what that guy traded for?

I kinda wish they had a better assortment of RSX's when I went up there. I had to choose between red and green (jade-ish metallic color). Or get a base... The red is growing on me though. It's been a while since I owned a car that wasn't black
