In an effort to improve the perception of its quality, General Motors announced yesterday an enhanced powertrain warranty of five years and 100,000 miles for its 2007 model-year vehicles.

The no-deductible warranty includes roadside assistance, courtesy transportation and is transferable to subsequent owners.

The coverage went into effect yesterday and covers 900 engine, transmission and driveline components, said Mark LaNeve, GM North America's vice president for sales, service and marketing.
GM's basic bumper-to-bumper warranty stays the same at three years and 36,000 miles for Chevrolet, Pontiac, GMC and Saturn.

General Motors' luxury brands – Buick, Cadillac, Hummer and Saab – have basic coverage of four years and 50,000 miles.
Just wonder if they will be around for the full term of the warranty???

This could be what does them in. Remember when Cadillac "guaranteed" Allanté resale would match that of MB's SL? Cha-ching.

Oh, and the Solstice is this generation's Fiero. Pass it on.

    Umm...no!
You see the Solstice actually runs and works properly, does not spontaneously combust, and not only handles well but does so better than the new sissy-fied, 4 cupholder chunky monkey amorphous blob thing that Mazda slapped the MX5 badge on!

Hey now, I didn't say anything about the NA or MB Miatas! I must say I did love the interior quality(minus the stupid cupholders in the door), top and the fit and finish of the NC. I know Mazda can do much better with the sport packaging/suspension and with the exterior styling. IMO, the lines are out of porportion and do not flow well creating a mediocre design that doesn't excite much.

Naw, but an image of the blue thing on wheels you hide out back did cross my mind.
