Thread: It's Not My Fault!

    Default It's Not My Fault!

I just had to share this ridiculous story off one of the Honda boards. This kid wrecks a GTI on a test drive and then blames the salesdrone. Said salesdrone was clearly an idiot himself, but the maxim still holds: you're responsible for your actions behind the wheel. I have highlighted the best parts.

Anwyways, just before the testdrive he comews up to me and says "My testdrive is a little different, you'll see what I mean, we dont go on the highway or busy streets and Ive been told people like it better" (Verbadum) So me driving and Arthra going down Florida ave in a fully loaded red GTi, he takes me down the back road ebtrance to the most exclusive housing community in Tampa, Avela. I knew what he had in mind as soon as we made the turn, "Handeling"! So before gunnnig down the one lane road full of twisties "I" ask him, "Can I open her up?" Speed limit is 30 here, He responds "sure", now going 80, I "ask" him if this is ok and if he is ok, he responds "oh your fine, this is nothing i've been in much worse", approaching a banked left haipin 90 degree turn I say "ok here we go" He says noting, doesn't blink, he grabs the oh-shit handle and prepsres for a SICK 40mph banked hairpin turn (mind you this was also a blind turn, so I couldn't see on comming traffic) I drop it to third and turn in such a manner as to apex at the inside left corner of the turn, he is still just holfing on for hear life. 1/4 way through the turn I see... two 5 x 6 road work signs RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BLIND TURN: there were no road work ahead signs we passed no warning no nothing. So. I went careening into them but this is what I though just before it happned. Everything was in slow motion, I though of slamming on the breakes where the would lock up loose traction and slide up the banked turn and hit the brick wall that runs the length of the road not 15 feet away, break hard and throw the e-break and risk spinning the car into the wall and dying, or hitting the metal and wood road work signs and hopw for the best. I took option 3. Mainly in shock and pissed as hell that the salesman was so irresponsible, i looked at the damage in disbeleaf. Front rright quarter poannes destroyes, right side mirror and assembly hanging by a thread, scrapes runnig down the side of the car, and right tailingt has a hole in it. He says "Its ok..." I yell at him "it not ok its not ok, im fucked, im fucked!" Well to end this cause ive been writing for like 8 mins now, i threaghtened to sue and call VW corprate, why you ask. "Its the salesmans job/responsibility to comtrol the driving behavior and manarisms of the client testing the car, he neglicted his job and put me in a position of pereal by faining to gather necessary information about the location of the testdrive because this was not a normal testdrive, and he aided me in unlawful speed and reckless driving. I ended up splitting the damages with them, i thoguh it was fait, I COULD have madew them pay all of it, I with I had, now. But i WAS driving and it was partly my fault.

Nice. "I was driving and it was partly my fault." Classic.

This is why ESP is being required in all cars. Best part is the GTI has it and if he would have hit the brakes he would have been stopped with no drama.

The funny part is that he acts like he took the time to think about his options. A spaz like that never stood a chance. He probably didn't even see the barrier until it was too late. Then he froze up and couldn't get to the brakes in time. "Thought about pulling the parking brake" Good one, super spaz. Next time take your mad skillz to the track instead of endangering the residents of that neighborhood.

I hope the salesdrone was fired, too.

By the way: this video referenced in the attached link is funny as hell but NSFW if your boss is really stuck up.

I wish I knew someone this stupid, just so I could smack them with a baseball bat. Repeatedly. What an idiot.

Skanky girlfriend? RX8 Club is a skanky girlfriend. Club SI is a two-dollar hooker you and your buddies picked up after way too many tequila slammers.

The guy was a dumba$$ for driving like that on an unfamiliar road. That and 90 in a 30. That's just stupid.

BTW I think someone already posed the video on here a couple of months ago. But is is a cool movie.

I thought about responding on that forum to this , who is obviously too young to drive with the mentality of a 5 year old, but it just wasn't worth the time or effort. To top it all off, his parents probably backed him up.
