DAMMMMNNNNNNNN! I would be out for blood!
Nice car squished by tire changer, very sad.....
Whiny owner crying that he has to drive the 911 instead of the Lotus... not sad.
If he has other means of transportation, why not remove his own wheels and take them to be mounted with new rubber and then reinstall.... or would he get dirt on his hands.
Dang those picture just make me sad.........![]()
Ah BS!!!! Just use a soft rubber mallet and that diffuser would be good. A little phone call to our good buddy Mouglie and a drop of resin later and the nose would be good. What a whiner!
Maybe 4 wheels aren't so bad after all... wickett.org

Well the Porsche is a 914, so it's not like the guy is loaded and has a newer 911 Turbo or something (for all you implying that he has tons of stupid money). Besides, you expect a tire place to be able to properly install... well, tires.
You guys ragging on him not doing it himself, have you read the posts about HOW you go about doing that? Getting on ramps, removing an undertray, getting off the ramps, then jacking the car up, one side at a time. Wouldn't you rather avoid that hassle and go somewhere where somebody can do it for you? The fact that his father-in-law is the service manager helps too.

I bitched a ton about how bad Discount Tire did on my cars wheel installs, so neither car goes there for the installation. I carry them the rims, have them mount and balance and drive them home to put them on.
If you have a special car, why take it to the local tire store just to complain that you got bad service. If you own a car as an enthusiast be able to change its tire. I watched as I man in a 328 call a tow truck to come change his flat, and then complain it took too long for him to arrive.
If you own it, be prepared to put in the effort. That is all I am saying. There is a guy complaining about how his car was treated at Big-O tire in the linked thread. Come on, they are not going to give the car white glove service at a normal station, they are there for the 98% of the population who is not an enthusiast with unnormal needs.
And in his post he describes it as a 911, I only found one reference to a 914 when a different poster talks about buying 914 race cars.
WTF were you reading???![]()
As quoted in the lotus guys original post about the sad sad events....I think you may be onto something Onething!Dammit!!!! And I have the Central Florida Lotus Fun Run on Saturday which I've been organizing. Guess I'll have to drive the 911.
BTW. If I do have tires changed I hover around the car, but the last set of tires for the Black Miata and the 'lac I just took in the wheels, lets the cars stay home and out of harms way.........![]()

I wonder if the tire monkeys will have to pay for the reduced market value of the car. IMHO, insurance should pay out on this whenever your car gets into a wreck because the market value has been damaged. Can't see why this would be any different.
