    Wait...
    He has a Honda.
Wouldn't hitting the rev limiter create an event that would be permanently stored in his ECU and void his warranty??

Repeat after me: hitting the rev limiter is not the same thing as an overrev. The former exists to prevent the latter from happening, but it can't save you when the dealer service monkey downshifts into the wrong gear.

Nevertheless, I'm sure Honda would find some other reason to void the warranty. Remember: their engines can' break, so it must be driver error.

In fact, if Adam or S. want to borrow a few "Its all Tom's fault" cards, I'd be happy to pass them along. Lord knows I use 'em for everything...

And at least Mazda knows how acronyms work:
    Variable Valve Timing = VVT
Variable Valve Timing and Lift, Electronically Controlled = VVTLEC
