Thread: PCA Mav Charity AX at TMS 10/9

  1. #1

Default PCA Mav Charity AX at TMS 10/9

The Maverick Region of PCA is having their Annual Charity "run what you brung" AX on the bus lot at TMS on Sunday 10/9/05. This is usually a low-key fun event quite often with some strange cars. They usually get 6-8 runs depending on how many cars enter. See below for an email I got about it.

    Maniac Mitch

    When: October 9th, 2005
Time: Registration and Check in 7:30
    Drivers' Meeting at 9:00
    Where: TMS Bus Lot
    Cost: $25 for PCA Members
    $30 for Non-PCA Members

Run what you'd like, as long as it passes tech inspection! This event this
year will once again benefit the Hope Shelter, Maverick Region's perpetual
charity. We are assisting in building them a new shelter. This money will
help accomplish that goal. We anticipate a finished shelter by December 2005!

This event has been graciously sponsored by Autobahn Motor Car Group in
    Fort Worth.

    Register online at http://www.mavpca.org/MavRegister.htm .

    Thanks so much!

Will there be an on-site tech inspection? IIRC, PCA usually prefers you go to their guy's shop before the event.

D'oh! Never mind - same day as ER #8, and I paid for the season. I've already missed two events; one more and it will cost me more than if I'd paid for each event

I love running with PCA, but they always seem to schedule everything in conflict with something I'm supposed to do. Sounds like a great cause too.

Sorry it's the same day as the ER event....bummer!

To answer your questions for others however, inspection will be onsite before the event. They don't ask you to go to Mayos anymore unless it's one of their schools. They used to ask you to get early tech for events, but cut it out when everyone complained.

I'd love to make it out to this one (PCA always puts on a good show), but I'm in the hunt for the year-end PAX trophy in ER.

ER for me as well... I've got to score at least 2 more finishes to secure my 2nd place position for the season... Yikes! Scarier than I thought looking at the numbers... Should be fairly easy for onething to bump me to 3rd unless I attend all 3.

I pre registered for this AX, and nobody is going to be there to rib me?

I am pretty sure the car will pass tech.
I know to take everything out of the car and bring a Helmet, and air tank, food, and beverages.
That sound about right? did I miss anything?

You guys will see a lot more of me now I think, when work allows.

There are a few members here who run the PCA events. This should help answer your questions!

Looks like I will be making it out to this one, I noticed my car was a little slippery today from the cooler weather so I am hoping it will be a touch warmer for better traction.
You still making this one Jerry?

Went out and did my First Real Auto X today, it was a blast!!!!
The Porsche guys were very nice and very KEWL people!
Also met a guy from this Forum out there running as well, his time was awesome, btw.
The event went well, and we got a T-Shirt for participating.
Got 8 runs, time improved with every lap.
The Surface was a little slippery at first until it started to warm up and then it got a little better, all in all I had a blast and look forward to doing more in the future, in fact I was asked to come out to the event next Sunday in Mineral Wells...and I will most likely make it to that one too.

Cool, glad you enjoyed it. I know you have probably seen it, but there is a calander of events and it list the rest of the autoX season there.
