    Default Class killing cars

What are some of the cars to have to be competitive in certain classes?

  2. #2

Look at the top cars in each class.

Remember the cars don't make the driver. The driver makes the car.

What class do you want to run?

    Super Stock
    Elise, C5 Z06, Porsche 996 GT3

    A Stock
    S2000 (preferably the ’08-‘09 CR)

    B Stock
    RX-8

    C Stock
’07 MX-5 MSR Package (roll your own – they never actually built any from the factory)

    D Stock
    Integra Type R

    E Stock
    ’93 Toyota MR2
    ’94-’98 Miata R Package

    F Stock
    Ford Shelby Mustang

    G Stock
    Mini Cooper S

    H Stock
Who cares? These cars all suck anyway.

True that. a 1980's BMW almost beat a Nissan GTR and the BMW autocross last weekend.

You're just mad because your newest toy has half the torque and half the drive wheels, but still weighs more than a boost buggy. Must be all those underbody panels...

BTW, I still think a Nismo 350Z could clean up in B Stock, but nobody has built one yet.

Blah Blah, I'm sure I could have run that time clean in the afternoon. It would've been 1.2+ Plus that might have been the most un-ideal course for that car.

At least I didn't run it through a cone wall to cause $800 in damage

I love that old standby comeback

    Two things:

    • It was one cone, not a wall. Get it right.
    • It's not my fault the damn cars are made out of balsa wood and tissue paper. If Lotus built a car with a bumper that would actually pass US safety regs, perhaps this wouldn't be an issue.

Wow altiain, imagine what he'd be saying if his car was not repaired.

No excuse -- the course was not ideal for any car, so we all had the same handicaps.

How much damage did you cause CosmosMpower when the battery broke loose and "modified" the rear end of your Lotus while AXing??

More than your Miata is worth.

Doesn't matter though, I ended up paying almost nothing out of pocket.

That makes 0 sense. Just because the course is the same for everyone doesn't mean it's not more ideal for some cars and less for others. Ever heard the term "course dependent"? I was stuck at the top of 1st and would be in the 3000 rpm range in 2nd where as some cars were at the 4,500+ RPM range in 2nd or had 400 ft lbs of torque. I also had the steering rack at full lock and could barely make it around some of the tight pivots.

How do you think I got beat by 3+ seconds by the same Z06 that I beat by 1+ second at MW earlier this year? We were both on the same tires (him R's, me street tires) I beat you by 1.5 Sunday (2.5 raw time) and 5 seconds at event 1, you think the driving is really that inconsistent?
