I'll probably put out a donation can in the shop with all proceeds going toward tools/shop improvement. Hopefully these cheap bastards will see the benefit of throwing a few bucks in the can when they take advantage of the shop.

I don't see a problem with that.

The scissor lift seems to have very limited use though. If it were me, I'd get a two post lift.

The scissor lift will likely go in the main garage. I will still be looking for a post lift for the shop... probably a 4 post though so I can use it for car storage too.

I suppose a scissor lift and a 4-post lift will allow you to work on everything.

Scissor lift allows work with wheels off but limited under car access.

4-post lift provides great under car access but difficult if not impossible to work on suspension and brakes.

Nice! Even better than a two post since the posts can get in the way of opening the door.
