Thread: Driver's Window Stuck Completly Down

Default Driver's Window Stuck Completly Down

Rolled down the window this morning (electric) and it won't come back up.

I've already pulled the panel once this morning and attempted to pull it from the bottom to put it in the up position. Didn't work, burr.

Searched the garage section on the pointy board and a couple posts as well.

I don't think the motor is bad since it went down just fine. I do think it is jammed up some where.

    Any ideas?

Do you hear any sound from the motor at all? If not, first thing I'd check would be the contacts in the switch as they tend to wear down, I built mine back up with a spot of solder. See if you're getting current to the motor, if you don't have a volt meter you might be able to see the interior light dim a bit when you hit the switch.

Betting the console switch is bad. I fixed the one in the Miata we had twice. Then just decided to replace it with a new one.

    Cam got it.

Used the wire attachment on the dremel, cleaned it off and sprayed electric cleaner on the contacts. Also cleaned the metal clips/contacts, dropped them down the side of the seat, removed the seat, found the little buggers (one of em fell down the ebrake hole and I had to pull the carpet up) and them reinstalled.

Will be greasing the tracks after school tonight, but the window works again.

Plan on using Sil-glyde on the tracks.

BTW: That's a HTC Hero cell phone pic. Pretty good quality if I do say so myself.
