Thread: Blinker Ticket!

  1. #1

    Default Blinker Ticket!

This morning going to work through Mesquite and got a ticket for not using my blinker when changing lane! WTF! I had this butt on left lane doing 60 at 6AM on I30. I pull around him w/o my blinker and got nailed! Now I have a ticket for "unsafe lane change"! This guy must be short 1 ticket for his shift!

Does anyone know a lawyer that I can use to fight this ticket w/o paying more than the ticket and driver ed?

I used this guy for my last ticket. Can't remember what the fee was, but I got out of a Dallas speeding ticket.

These guys have done more than a few tickets for my dad (he's got a big lead foot).

Give me a break! A ticket for not using blinker! Look around, you can find more than a dozen cars doing the same shit. There are a lot more worse shit going on in the freeway! Where are they? There were so many times that I almost got ran off the road by the butt hXXX on the phone!

Yes, I do not want to pay. At least not to these idiot cops! I can see warning or something. A ticket is just wrong!

Why didn't he also ticket you for passing on the right?

And? The last time I used the "everybody does it" excuse, I was in grade school. If only you knew how many times I've nearly been hit by idiots doing lane changes without blinkers...

Maybe you won't forget to use it next time since you got a ticket instead of a warning. It takes what, two inches of movement to reach the switch?

So what you're really saying is that you're upset that it was your turn to get caught?

As a long time (retired) cop, if the attitude displayed to the Officer was remotely similar to the attitude of your post, I would say it was an attitude ticket. Written thousands in my time, one for no high beam indicator when I couldn't find anything else. Sometimes it's about the lesson, not the offense....Grasshopper.

Good possibility. Always be nice to the po-po.

Seriously though. How many times have you gotten away with illegal driving infractions? I got a ticket for NFP and while I thought it was silly, I took the ticket and paid my fine. Better that than a speeding ticket.

It had to happen one day

I've never fought a ticket because I've deserved every one I've gotten... the only one that was remotely "iffy" was when I got a 72 in a 60 on a back road while driving my Supra, which had a broken speedo. I did have a pretty good idea of how fast I was going, though

Heck, I just got a ticket a couple of weekends ago... darn small towns on 114 (by Lake Bridgeport ).

Sorry you got the ticket Gab, but you deserve it. If you don't want to get a ticket for not using your turn signal... use your turn signal. It's that simple.

Personally, I wish cops wrote more tickets for this. It's one of my personal "road ettiquette" pet peeves.

But when its this cold outside, I hate having to roll down my window and hang my arm out. Besides, after driving for 40+ years, everybody knows where I'm going anyway. Why do I need to signal?

HAHAHAHAHA! I know THAT one! I go through it every time I go to a friend's hunting ranch.

I set my cruise control to 55 as they are a bunch of ticket writing mo-fos over there. I've never gotten nailed there but I've seen plenty of people who have.

Runaway Bay gets a LARGE portion of their city budget from ticket revenue and is even worse than going through Cisco, TX.

    Fight it.

Wilson Hodge: 972 203 2940. He's off of I-30 and Bobtown. He might be able to help you. If not, plead not guilty.

I got a "failure to signal" ticket 3.5 years ago and I was going around a broken piece of concrete in the road. I'm still pissed that I didn't fight the ticket.

I cant believe there are so many people on here saying "fight it".

You admitted you did not use your signal... without getting on a soapbox about why this country is in the shape it is I will simply say take resposnibility for your actions.

I would rather the courts not be tied up with this garbage.

Besides if you fight it what defense will there be? Everyone else is doing it? You are resting your fate on if the cop shows... most PD's have mandatory show ups. The cop will get 3 hours OT minimum normally... so you are pretty much handing him $125.

Call and sweet talk the court clerk (if she is female ) to see if you can please no contest, be put on a 3 month probation and skip defensive driving.

At worst you will have to pay the fine and take defensive driving.

+1, I think not signaling is more hazardous than speeding.

I agree... not signalling is way more dangerous than speeding...

When was the last time you saw a cop use his turn signal? I'm not saying that makes it right... I'm just sayin'.
